Wills are a vital component of securing your family's future, and specialist advice is essential. We can advise you according to your individual needs and make you aware of any opportunities to save tax through trusts or other devices. We have many years experience with the creation of Wills, Living Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, Family Arrangements and Trusts. We can also help and advise on Tax Returns.
Advising on the use of trusts to save tax is a regular part of our practice. They can be set up to start during a client's lifetime or to come into effect under their Will. Often a trust will ensure that a gift can be made without the recipient losing means-tested benefits.
Gilbert Stephens has long experience and specialist expertise in the administration and management of Trusts and Estates, and we can also advise on the formation and management of Charities.
In addition we can help those who need to take on the finances of an incapacitated relative, whether under an Enduring Power of Attorney or a Receivership, which can include advice on applications to the Court of Protection; for example, to approve a new Will or tax planning scheme for them.
Our specialist Wills, Trusts and Probate team provide advice in all these areas. Four members of the team are members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and Richard Walford is also a member of the Law Society's Probate Section.
