Green Guru Guest Speaker at Ottery Recycling & Environmental Event
On Saturday, 24 September, world famous environmentalist Satish Kumar will be attending a Recycling & Environmental Exhibition at Ottery St Mary's Parish Church.
The event aims to offer practical and hands on advice to businesses, families and children on recycling and environmental issues and will include a talk from Mr Kumar, who is the editor of Resurgence magazine, as well as Sustainable Ottery's Helen Collinson will also talk about her work for Christian Aid.
Representatives from East Devon District Council, Devon County Council, South West Water, Sustainable Ottery, Eco Systems South West, Recycling in Ottery and The Little Green Solar Company will also be at the event to show how items can be recycled and reused, and how energy and natural resources can be saved.

Children will also have the opportunity to recycle and reuse everyday junk and learn about the environment. Organic and fair trade products and refreshments will also be available.
Exhibition organiser, John Masters, said: "Previous exhibitions have attracted around 500 people from the local community and the events have really helped to highlight environmental issues and how we can all make a difference by adopting a few simple changes to the way we live our lives."
Due to the church's links with Melanesia all funds raised during the event will be split between the parish church and the Melanesian Mission.
The event runs from 10 am until 4 pm.
