Kenton Pre School Balloon Race Sucess
Hundreds of helium balloons floated up to the skies over Kenton in April at the beginning of the Kenton pre-school Balloon Race.
The balloon race, which was sponsored by Gilbert Stephens Solicitors, was part of the Easter celebrations to raise funds for the village pre-school. The celebrations included an Easter egg hunt and tea and cakes at the village hall. A huge hamper filled with chocolate treats was also raffled.
Entrants for the balloon race will be hoping their balloon travels the furthest to win the £50 first prize. Runners up will win a year's subscription to a magazine and tickets for the Devon County Show.
Carrie Ward, fundraiser for the pre-school, said "The last time a balloon race was held in Kenton, balloons travelled as far as Italy, so the children are excited to see what happens.”
