Richard read law at Cambridge and qualified as a Solicitor in December 1989, having completed his professional training in Exeter. He has practised as a Private Client specialist in both Exeter and Bristol. He joined Gilbert Stephens in 2000 and has been head of the Private Client Team since July 2003.
He has been a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since April 1994, and is a member of the managing committee of its West of England Branch. Richard is also a member of the Law Society's Private Client Section and the Devon & Somerset Law Society.
Richard advises on all aspects of wills, probate and estate planning including trust and tax advice. His name appears in the Mencap List of Solicitors who give specialist advice to parents, relatives and carers on financial provision for those with a learning disabilities.
Outside the office Richard sings with the Exeter Bach Society Choir, St Peters Singers of Exeter Cathedral and the Teignmouth Community choir. He also chairs the village twinning committee in Kenton.
